One in nine women will develop breast cancer*

Thankfully, increased screening and raised awareness of symptoms means the disease can often be caught before it spreads.

It's great news if early-stage cancer is prevented from developing into a full-blown critical illness.  But we recognise that having a mastectomy can be medically and emotionally traumatic.  That's why we make an additional payment if your client needs a mastectomy.  This doesn't affect their sum assured - so they'll still get a full payment further down the line if the illness does become critical.
